The Story of Fitness 4 Focus
The story of Fitness 4 Focus truly begins with Tommy.
In 2005, founder Chris Russell was working as a Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) worker for Youth Advocate Programs when he first met Tommy McHale. One fall day in Palmyra, PA, during recess, Chris tossed a ball to Tommy on the playground. The ball sailed right by him. Tommy took a moment, looked, and then turned to go after it.
This seemingly small moment sparked a big idea in Chris - a vision of a place where individuals with special needs could thrive. A place where they could become stronger, not just physically, but cognitively. A place where they could build strength, coordination, confidence, independence, and become better athletes.
Chris noticed Tommy's struggles with hand-eye coordination and stamina. But he also recognized something deeper: with the right environment, the right tools, and the right support, Tommy and others like him could improve.

In 2010, five years after that pivotal moment, Fitness 4 Focus officially opened its doors. The first facility was a small space in the back of a church in Hershey, PA. Over the years, it grew - expanding into three locations across Central Pennsylvania.
And Tommy? He's lost 100 pounds, gained an immense boost in confidence, and continues to work hard five times a week, still focused on growth and improvement as an athlete.
Now, 15 years into its journey, Fitness 4 Focus has evolved into a franchise, and the vision that started with Tommy will soon spread across the country. Fitness 4 Focus is ready to bring its unique approach to helping individuals of all ages and abilities live healthier, more fulfilling lives, one location at a time.
